May 04, 2004 Did you hear? Jim and Jen in Portland are on their way to having a nuclear family! Pretty soon they’ll be saying things like, “Simmer down you two!” or “If you and your sister can’t play nice…” Quinn and Whoever You Are, here’s a picture of your parents. Look closely; you can see yourselves as gleams in mom’s eye!
Oh, and by the way Mr. Smuggypants, I looked, and gee, The Pixies aren’t playing in Portland. They are playing in Bend Oregon, however. So, after you drive the 190 miles, are you going to hang out in the city? Maybe check out a race at the track? Take in a museum? Smarmy Portlanders… Are you gonna be in the middle of the Black Rock firing off model rockets on July Fourth? Are you going for a bike ride on high desert singletrack from your back door tomorrow? Is Justin gonna move there when he gets back from Japan? (Oh, crap… I hope not. We miss you Justin, come back here.) Are you gonna go hang out in Pa Bennett’s hot tub and drink his Scotch this weekend? Well, everyone who lives in Reno is… Just kidding (not about the Scotch part; it’s about time we hit your dad up for a house party.) I truly hope you are loving your new home in Ptown, but you will never convince me that you’ve got it better up there. Bag on the Great Basin all you want, but I don’t want to be anywhere else. All kidding aside, CONGRATULATIONS to you two (three? four?)! I think the world will be a better place with more love from the likes of you! Hooray for Clan Bennett!!!
